Experiential Metafunctional Analysis of Liu Xijun's “Bei Chou Ge” and Its English Versions

This paper attempts to analyze and compare transitivity processes of “Bei Chou Ge” its five English versions from the perspective experiential function Halliday's systemic-functional linguistics makes a comment on similarities differences between them. Through analysis poem translations, it is found that there are 5 for first line, 3 second, third sixth lines, 1 version fourth fifth in which maintains high consistency with original poem. Spearman Correlation shows significant positive relationship by Watson poem, translation highly correlated following coefficient, p = 0.890. study can give clues poems their translations processes, exploring participants circumstantial elements theoretical framework functional grammar.
